Cornell discovered her passion for reproductive health care while taking a class focused on reproductive justice which opened her eyes to the glaring disparities in outcomes for birthing people in the US. Shortly after graduating college, Cornell trained as a birth doula and worked in a variety of roles at a chiropractic office, shelter for domestic abuse survivors, and a community college. She eventually attended a direct entry midwifery program with the goal of becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. Her training started in a rural home birth practice primarily serving Amish and Mennonite families. To round out her training, she apprenticed at a high-volume freestanding birth center where she received mentorship from CPMs, CNMs, and a family practice physician. After completing her program, Cornell came full circle and returned to the rural home birth practice where her hands-on training first began.

In November of 2022, Cornell relocated from Madison, WI to Minneapolis to join the midwives Willow! Her ultimate goal as a provider is to empower clients to actively participate in their own health care through informed consent and shared decision making. Cornell strives to provide individualized care that is filled with compassion, joy, and a little bit of humor.

When she is not serving families, Cornell enjoys solving sudoku puzzles, admiring the sea of plants that her green-thumbed partner tends to, and experimenting in the kitchen.
