Trillium Midwifery Care was established in 2006 and like many practices it has evolved over the years. Emme Corbeil CPM, LM, and Grace Flannery CPM are a two-midwife practice working in true partnership. Emme and Grace provide care to people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender expressions. The Midwifery Model of Care has a foundation rooted in mutual trust, evidenced-based practice, education, and shared decision-making. Each family receiving care with Trillium will feel love, support, and personalized guidance through their birthing time. This is the hallmark of community midwifery care,

Emme is a native of Toronto Canada but has made Minneapolis home for the past 28 years. Emme’s passion for birth began in 1991 when she birthed her first baby into the hands of a loving midwife. Birth was transformative and empowering, so much so, that despite being trained as a high-school teacher, Emme found her true calling after receiving midwifery care. When she was asked to be with a friend through her long hard VBAC and while witnessing the unbelievable power and strength of that woman, that singular birth was the catalyst and her dream of becoming a midwife was cemented. Emme started her formal midwifery training in 2003 and earned her Certified Professional Midwife credential in 2008. She is licensed as a Traditional Midwife by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Emme has had the privilege of working with many community midwives in Minnesota, the Philippines, and at the Farm Midwifery Training Center in Tennessee. She was thrilled to learn directly from Ina May Gaskin, Pamela Hunt, and the rest of the Farm Midwives. Emme is a trained Lactation Counselor, certified in Advanced Neonatal Life Support and adult infant CPR (BLS), and has done advanced training and study with Spinning Babies, Integral Touch of Birth- Myo-facial Therapy, Cranio-Sacral Level I, and BRAVA Core Health.

Emme is a member of the Minnesota Council of Certified Professional Midwives and has served on the Board of Directors for many years.

Emme lives in South Minneapolis with her husband Paul and a cute but anxious pup. She loves working with her hands- knitting, gardening, pottery and generally making beautiful things. She finds great peace walking in nature, plunging in a cold lake, meditating in a hot sauna, and sitting by the side of a birthing person. Her three kids are grown and launched but remain her greatest teachers.
