Molly Ferguson, ND, CPM, LM
My interest and passion for birth began as a child; I remember enjoying many birth stories from my mother and her friends at a young age, and even had the privilege of attending several of my siblings births at home, with a midwife in attendance. When I chose the field of medicine as a freshman in college at Fanciscan University, natural healthcare and birth were my real interests, so when I discovered Naturopathic Medicine, I knew that was what I wanted to pursue. After graduation in 2001, I began my studies at Bastyr University in Seattle where I could study both naturopathic medicine and midwifery. While there, I trained as a midwife through both coursework and apprenticeship. My student births were in homes and free standing birth centers in the Seattle area as well as in the country of Vanuatu where I attended hospital deliveries. In 2006, I became a Licensed Midwife in Washington State, and practiced midwifery in Seattle for one year. During that year I had the joy of receiving midwifery care myself, and giving birth to my daughter Lucia in our home.
In 2007, my husband Todd and I moved to Moorhead, MN to be closer to our families. We both practice at Prairie Naturopathic Doctors, and I continue to attend homebirths as a Licensed Midwife and CPM. I truly enjoy the time I spend with women during our prenatal visits, births, and home visits, and am honored to provide informed and highly personalized care for pregnant women and babies. I currently accept clients living within an hour radius of Moorhead, MN, and offer free consultations so you can meet me and ask any further questions you may have about midwifery care at Prairie Naturopathic Doctors.
On a personal note, I have since given birth at home, with my midwife present, to our daughter Clare and son Kilian. My “free time” is pretty full! But I do enjoy workouts, reading, decorating blogs, and crafting in those precious moments.
